Katydid

Katydid (Tettigoniidae):

This appealing green insect is most commonly observed in the late summer and early fall.  It’s bright green color blends it with the greenery of tree leaves.  It is well known for its evening call, “katy did”. As the temperature falls the “katy” and the “did” get placed farther apart.
