Ox-eyed Daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare):
Ox-eyed daisy is a wild perennial wildflower that is mostly found in open grasslands. It looks very similar to a common daisy, with white zigzag edged petals and a yellow center disk, but the 2 inch size of its flower is noticeably larger than most other varieties. They bloom from late spring till mid-autumn, and produce a large amount of flat seeds that disperse to the surrounding soil and can remain viable for up to 3 years. Ox-eyed daisies are fairly adaptable, but preferentially grow in meadow or under open-canopied forests. They are native to Europe, however they have been introduced everywhere from North America to Australia, and are considered by many to be an invasive weed due to their propensity for outcompeting local wildflowers and other plants.
