New England Wildlife Centers Planned Giving

We wouldn’t be doing our job if we didn’t ask!

Over the past 37 years, New England Wildlife Centers has been a safe harbor for both animals and people through wildlife veterinary care, education and community care. From the very beginning, the driving idea behind the Center has been “education in action.” This very philosophy of care-based science education freely available to the public, has made us a unique institution. Our entire hospital is windowed to invite the public to observe the care being given to our wildlife by our dedicated and caring veterinary teams. NEWCS’ teaching hospitals and education centers, in Weymouth and Barnstable, create an intersection of people and animals that nurtures the next generation of stewards.

We need your help

We want to continue expanding this model into the future and ensure the next generation and beyond will be able to be a part of New England Wildlife Centers. We need your help to sustain our work. Please consider a legacy gift. We encourage you to discuss options and the impact they might have on your estate and personal situation with a professional advisor. We thank you for your support of our mission. We are truly grateful and so fortunate that you are a part of our community.

Different Ways to Give a Planned Gift

Life Insurance Policy

You can designate New England Wildlife Centers as the beneficiary of your life insurance policy.

Bequests/Wills & Trusts

A bequest can be made in any amount to a nonprofit organization and cost nothing during your lifetime. Changes to wills and trusts, as with any planned gift, should be discussed with your lawyer or financial advisor.

IRA/Qualified Charitable Distributions

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a great way for donors over the age of 70 ½ to make a donation up to $100,000 directly from their IRA that counts towards your minimum distribution. A QCD is also excluded from taxable income, unlike a regular withdrawal from an IRA. If an IRA distribution sounds right for you, please discuss it with your IRA Administrator.

These are just a few of the most common forms of Planned Giving. Your financial advisor is the best person to discuss your options with and determine what’s right for you and your personal situation.
