Great Horned Owlet Admitted to Hospital

by Jack Banagis on May 22, 2017 No comments

This grumpy baby is a Great Horned Owlet. He was found alone in Hanover. He was brought into New England Wildlife Center after unsuccessful attempts to reunite him with mom. Physical examinations unveiled a wound on his chest, perhaps caused by the fall from his nest. His wound has been treated and he is on pain medication and antibiotic as he recovers. We have him on a fragile orphan protocol, and he ravenously eats breakfast lunch and dinner, which is a great sign. His prognosis is guarded, but we have high expectations! Stay tuned for more updates!
